The one about the fence

2. One of our neighbors put up a fence.

Their motive wasn't bad but it ended up being a minor disaster. The motive was presumably to prevent their twin toddlers from wandering into our yard. The problems: 1) our HOA documents clearly state that we can not have fences; 2) they didn't ask us; and 3) the fence was ticky-tacky antifreeze green plastic.

Several neighbors complained to the management company which sent them a letter telling them to remove the fence. When they didn't immediately comply, the management company asked us for pictures, which my wife took and supplied. The neighbors then got fined, took down the fence, and blamed us. The neighbor wife retaliated by sending a letter complaining that we had feces in our yard! The board inspected our yard and found nothing, of course, since that was literally "made up shit."

We really like and a get a kick out of the neighbors' kids, but as you might expect, we're not on talking terms with the "adults."
