I like to preserve my jeans for as long as possible.

If I spill something on them, they go right in the washer. If they've been worn, I roll them up and place them in in a zip lock bag and keep in the freezer for a few days, this kills germs and smells that are on the jeans. I probably wear my jeans roughly 10 times before actually throwing them in the wash.

I always air dry my jeans as well. In fact, the jeans I'm wearing at this very moment are roughly 6 years old and do not have any fraying on the hem. There is fraying and thinning of material going on inside the inner thigh, which is what happens with so much wear.

Additional info: I don't wear my jeans mowing the yard, weeding, chopping firewood, outdoor paint projects, etc. etc.
