There is a very long term study of hyenas being done by Michigan State University, in the Masai Mara. They are fascinating creatures - not nearly the snarling, salivating monsters shown on the original Lion King. I haven't seen the remake but I'm assuming that characterization is still there.

The Lion King is just a wonderful story - kind of a morality play. I'm not a big fan of animation but I really enjoyed the original. I'd love to see the remake because it looks to be visually amazing.
