I had been in a car accident on the night of the Northridge Earthquake. My stepfather who lived in Westchester came and picked me up. So, I was sleeping in his living room that night. He had two enormous speakers in there. The last thing he said to me was, if an earthquake hits, those will fall on you.

Well, that damned earthquake hit, and I jumped up and ran to the doorway, then just stood there while I watched the upright piano shimmy across the room. The speakers never moved. I am so glad I didn't have them fall over on me. That earthquake was one of the scariest things to ever happen to me. There was one other earthquake that was very bad, but I don't remember what they called it. But, earthquakes, yeah...
