Bandits whose lack of fame keeps them out of the Western Hall of Fame [View all]

Archie Clement

Was a Confederate guerrilla during the Civil War and rode with the likes of William Quantrill and "Bloody" Bill Anderson. Unlike Quantrill, Anderson and many others, Clement managed to survive the war and continued to lead the few remaining former guerrillas after hostilities ended and they engaged in bank robbing. A member of Clement's group later went on to achieve great fame and he was Jesse James.

Clement was finally killed in a gunfight on December 13, 1866.
