(36,092 posts)I worked for a big, nationally known corporation. Fellow employees would latch onto one of those phrases and work it to death. I couldn't stand it, either.
So I made up a one-page satirical newsletter called it "CorpSpeak." This was decades ago. I wrote up articles about the latest buzzwords and ranked them. Sometimes I would make new ones up and other times I would tell people certain ones were out.
I ran it off on the company's photocopier at night and distributed it on everyone's desk once a month.
The funny thing is that though it was satirical, it was taken seriously. I would hear people correcting each other on the elevator, saying, "That expression is out. Didn't you read CorpSpeak?"
Meanwhile I had to hide my smirk. But I was often able to get people to stop using the expressions I hated.
