In reply to the discussion: Which ingredient will instantly make you go "nope" no matter how tasty the food seems? [View all]electric_blue68
(19,170 posts)87. That's a strong for me except...
So... I avoid licorice from after the first time I had a black jellybean in first grade. Gah! Anything w fennel until I found I really love Italian sweet sausage.
Just having looked it up to make sure it was fennel...
It seem that that sausage is the only one that contains fennel.
I'm thinking the other tastes counter balance it enough, plus I was a very picky eater as a kid, started to really expand my taste buds in my later teens.
I also love kielbasa, and chorizo.

OP
Onions. If I find out there are onions in something, especially raw ones, I won't touch it.

Apparently, the way you taste cilantro is a trait that is mostly determined by your genes.

I think so too! It makes you wonder what else we are experiencing completely

I'm creeped out by anything that has eyes, like a whole fish. Can't eat that.

Squid. Went fishing in Florida and used slimmy stinky squid all day for bait. That night
