Switched to Marlboro reds on a trip when Kools werenβt available. Back then in early 80s we could get cartons on sale in the PX for $1.99 but regular price was $2.99. Worked my way down to Marlboro lights when I finally quit in 2001.

I quit April 30, 1976. Cold turkey. My wife's doctor told her she should quit smoking. She had never smoked in her life.
