(53,339 posts)145. I used to go fishing on Vandenberg when I visited
My mother and my little brother and his family lived in Lompoc, and my brother, Jim, worked at Vandenberg as a civilian heading labor relations for the AF in the Western states region. As a base employee, he was allowed to bring visitors in to fish on base, so my older brother and I would do outings there with Jim.
We just had to watch out for ticks when we walked through the brush to the beach. Jim contracted Lyme Disease that way...
