(15,807 posts)He nearly got sent home from the school trip he was on (which would've been an 8-hour drive, each direction, for us to pick him up.) Dh is still cheering about that one, as it's the first time the kid has actually gotten in serious trouble. But the teacher brushed it off, noting that he was a good kid.
Both kids come home from school/sports and sit down at the dining room table and do their homework. We aren't home to nag them, so we really don't know what happened there. We don't claim responsibility for their responsibleness. Both are straight-A students. One takes differential equations at a local college (he's the sophomore in high school). The other takes pre-calculus (he's the freshman in high school).
So far, so good. Things can change - we know that - but their course in life is good so far. We got lucky, is all.
