I don't like gangster movies because I have no sympathy for or identification with murderers. The Godfather series is a bunch of beautiful movies about people that are horrible and ugly on the inside.

I'll say the same about Million Dollar Baby. I have no sympathy for the main characters, boxers, because they hurt people for a living. Even a female boxer. Makes no difference, it's about hurting and killing people.

Citizen Kane for the cinematography and effects that were very low-tech.

Like the scene with the water glass, the wife Susan in bed after an attempted overdose, and the nurse coming through the door: That same piece of film was run through the camera and exposed THREE TIMES to get the three different elements of the picture in.

I think Citizen Kane NewJeffCT Feb 2015 #1
This may seem rather flip but it's my feeling: It's impossible for me. One film is New York Strip. BlueJazz Feb 2015 #2

For artistic merit: edge Kane. But I find Godfather (I & II) more entertaining. Gidney N Cloyd Feb 2015 #11
