that's part of the commodification process of capitalism. It's worthless unless you can sell it and it's worth depends ENTIRELY on what you can sell it for and, to a lesser extent, how much of it you can sell. It's an AWFUL system for art and artisan types of work and persons. There's a reason it's called a "sellout" when artists and artisans go commercial.
