Picked up playing several months ago after a few decades hiatus and am thrilled to find affordable vintage gear all over the place. A Kustom bass rig that with a bit of cleaning looks and sounds like it did in 72', and still loud enough to stun a badger at 20 yards! (Tuck and Roll, Baby!)
A chromium Morley tank of a pedal, and an incredibly cheap Leslie 18 that needed a bit of TLC to restore it to swirly glory. Found enough motors and rotors online to begin building a custom Leslie cab for bass.
Found great sources for vintage parts too, Mouser Electronics in Texas.
As much as I dislike Guitar Center stores, their used gear department links all their stores online making for a very wide array of affordable gear from every state. Great for feeding my pedal madness.

Topped it off with a new Fender Jazz Aerodyne, possibly the best and most beautiful PJ bass they've ever produced. Picked that up on Ebay for about half the retail price.

Found a cool place for speaker refurbs out of Ohio. Hempopotamus Loudspeakers. Very reasonable recones made from hemp! You can find them on Reverb as well.

New golden age indeed!

Thanks, interesting Blues Heron May 2017 #1
