1. Nobody "shops" for anything out of the absolute ordinary anymore

Look at any mall in the United States, 90% plus of the stores are the very same ones you'd find in just about any area of the country. Two or three hundred buyers for these chains determine a very large percentage of what is available to American shoppers.

Need a part for something? Don't expect to find it at your local big box store, they'd like you to throw the broken gizmo on the town trash heap, and just buy a new one.
