It is very seldom that we have a meaningful statewide race where the Dem is truly competitive.
My wife and I made modest donations to James Smith for Gov and Carrgan (running against loathsome Joe you lie! Wilson), but neither is within 10 points. First District around Charleston is the only competitive uS House race and it is about a 5 point spread.
We prefer to volunteer for the state and county parties and build for long term success rather than throwing our limited resources at long shots.
