you can now find in liquor stores. As for "locally-brewed" shine, I'd advise not inquiring about it until you've lived there for a few years & know some locals VERY well. People are very protective of this info for obvious reasons.

There are some local craft beer breweries in the area. Nashville has many craft breweries now & you will be able to get some of their products in Cookeville. Yazoo is the biggest & best known in Middle TN.
