Apr 7 primary- Voters Spoke Loudly [View all]

Wisconsin voters spoke loudly on April 7th, 2020. Forced to endure some of the nation's most oppressive Voter registration laws, they knew the WisGOPs had gerrymandered the state into a 'jim crow' poster child. Voters also knew the GOP refused to consider the pandemic, with THREE refusals to delay the election; two during a special legislative session. The voters also knew the WisGOPs would use the corrupted State Supreme court, of ultra conservative 527 PAC sponsored judges would rule in their favor...which they did...the day before the election! Nothing like having time to inform the public, which they did nothing in the media except leave confusion and frustration.
The Wisconsin voters knew what was happening and they have had enough.
Even with all the hoop jumping and risk of actual death, they worked out how to cast a vote. They voted absentee, in numbers unheard of, in a Spring Presidential Primary. Estimated 31% of all voters turned out, compare that to 2016 when only 40% voted, and without all the GOP drama or a 'death option'.
They placed a liberal on the State Supreme Court, ousted hundreds of local Trumpie loud-mouthed knuckleheads from county and municipal governments and funded school bonds.
I am encouraged by this election's results. The nation will focused on what Wisconsin does next. We know what that will be:

On May 12, 2020: Voters get to replace Rep. Sean Duffy, a MTV realty star turned GOPer, for 4 terms in Congress, only to suddenly quit last year. The GOP picked Tom Tiffany to run, a NRA endorsed Trumpie who voted against; open records laws, $26M funding for the state's largest Veterans Home and downplayed a Juvenile Detention Center's fiasco of sexual abuse by staff. The Dems have a good candidate in TRICIA ZUNKER ( https://triciaforwisconsin.com/), a highly educated PoliSci lawyer, on the state's ACLU board, and an associate justice on the Ho-Chunk Nation Supreme Court.

On Aug 11, 2020: Official Partisan Primary. Presidential, Congressional and State Offices to determine who's on the Nov 3 ballots.
This election will be another replay of April 7th, as it is expected that the GOP rules for hoop jumping may be increased, as they hold control over both state legislative houses and can pass what they want. It will also be the beginning of the SECOND WAVE OF CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC. This will also be when we learn if schools will open in a week or two, if the dairy farm bankruptcy rate breaks new records, which Wisconsin has led for three years under Trump's tariffs.

On Nov 3, 2020: Wisconsin can reclaim it's liberal personality. The one that helped create public radio, teacher's unions, Earth Day, the EPA and start the retribution of the GOP with a nice purge, an assault if you like on conservatism, that has literally ruined the state.

I am encouraged, with all that's sick and wrong in Wisconsin, that the voters (especially younger ones) will take back the state and end the era of conspiracy-fueled paranoia for the logical human based governance we enjoyed since 1848.

Go Wisconsin. Go Badgers and Go Packers (the only community owned NFL team)
