Went to a high school graduation party last Sunday. Catholic girl's high school. Didn't want to go but my significant other insisted because she is friends with the graduate's mother. Asshole starts mouthing off about all of the Hillary scandals, how she covered up for Bill's rapes (never proven, of course) and how she was responsible for the Benghazi deaths. Then he went into how she is into "killing babies" I couldn't take it. I told Mr. know-it-all that I am pro-choice, that I think women can make their own decisions. Then I asked him what real proof he had of any of his accusations. He tried to dismiss me with a wave of his hand saying "You're a big liberal" but I wasn't done. Told him he is brainwashed by too much Fox news and right-wing radio. Told him he is an idiot for supporting a con man like Trump. Told him I voted for Obama twice and would again if I could. I got a little too loud.
Embarrassed? Yes, in a way. My partner thought I went a bit nuclear. I agree. I am still sorting it all out. I just can't take the bullshit any more.
