2. The stupid - it spreads, from Kansas to Missouri, that is.

I used to visit an old friend who'd been transferred to KCMO (Kansas City MO) for several years - a great city in many ways, but the hatred of all things liberal, and the racism of many of the locals with whom she worked (throughout the state) really upset her. Typically these bigots were minimally educated and abysmally untraveled. In other words, so very easily manipulated by fear-mongering Republicans.

2 of KCMO's 3 congressmen are Republican.

Governor of Missouri
The current Governor of Missouri is Democrat Jay Nixon. He was sworn into the Office of Governor on January 12th, 2009. Jay Nixon is 59 years old and serving his second elected term as Governor.
His Missouri Gubernatorial seat will be up for regular election on November 8th, 2016.
Jay Nixon is not eligible for re-election in 2016 due to state term restrictions.
