3. Too many non-educators making decisions.

And not just on the state and national level.

We have an assistant principal who has never been a classroom teacher. For this individual to be in charge of evaluating teachers is a joke. (It also doesn't help that the guy is a complete misogynist. Makes you wonder if he got into educational administration for a reason.)
