In the past, sectarian colleges facing declining enrollments have had to merge with other schools of similar doctrinal bent, which usually forces the two sects to accommodate each other's views and average out their differences, with a less "intensely" religious school sometimes being the result. Forcing this process to its logical conclusion could give us decent, effectively secular private colleges in the end.
