isn't there some purity test for being "progressive" or whatever on DU?
----------------------------------------------------------------

Ever here of the term coined by George Orwell ( aka Eric Blair ) in the book "1984"
called "group think"

You only want people that think the way you do - no diversity, no discussion.

Everyone just sits around and congratulates themselves on everybody thinking alike.

Sounds pretty damn boring to me. Also doesn't get much accomplished.

Besides, I think you are just jealous. The denizens of DU really don't have all that
much input into the energy policy of the USA.

I, on the other hand, as one of the scientists at a national lab, have a great deal
of input into our energy policy. With the failure of Solyndra, and the bureaucrats
now afraid of losing their jobs by backing another losing horse; the DOE scientific
community will be having a LOT more influence in the future.

If you don't know who we are; we are the ones that wrote the national lab system-wide
energy policy document that you can read here:

A Sustainable Energy Future: The Essential Role of Nuclear Power

http://www.ne.doe.gov/pdffiles/rpt_sustainableenergyfuture_aug2008.pdf

signed by all national lab directors including Secretary of Energy Dr. Steven Chu.
