when i would get down, i would go sit by my beloved lake michigan.
sometimes i would go to the beach at the end of my block, and sometimes i would drive to somewhere north of me. it is a lovely drive. sometimes i would go all the way to the wis border.

it never failed to calm me.
i would go there thinking maybe this was the day i was gonna fill my pockets w rocks and walk off the pier.
obviously, i never did.
