Two of our cats, a brother-sister pair who are no longer with us, customarily sat with their paws crossed, and always with the left paw on top, just like in Madoc’s picture.

The sister was a dainty little lynx point Siamese, and she looked ever-so-elegant and ladylike in that pose.
