(118,282 posts)... Police and Suffolk prosecutors investigating the shooting believe a verbal altercation led to shots being fired by two individuals near Broad Street and Surface Artery, police said in a statement.
One of the men involved, Dumayne Chin, 25, of Boston, sustained fatal injuries in the shooting and was later pronounced dead at Tufts Medical Center, police said.
The second individual, a 33-year-old man whose name has not been released, possessed a registered firearm and a valid license to carry it.
The man surrendered his firearm to the police and has so far cooperated with the investigation. Because it appears that he may have acted in self-defense, the man has not been charged at this time, police said in a statement ...
