(118,282 posts)ESCANABA -- Escanaba Public Safety is investigating a shooting incident that occurred at an apartment complex on the citys north side Sunday night.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., officers were summoned after a 911 call was placed to Central Dispatch, alerting authorities to a male subject that had just been shot.
Officers located a 20-year-old Escanaba man lying on the floor in the apartment with a gunshot wound to the face. Rampart ambulance personnel initially transported the victim to OSF St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba and later to Marquette General Hospital for further treatment.
Officers detained 26-year-old Andrew Robert Maynard, suspected of being the one responsible for the shooting. He was brought to Public Safety, interviewed, and ultimately arrested on a weapons offense ...

ESCANABA - An Escanaba man, accused of shooting another man in the face last weekend, was officially charged with careless discharge of a firearm during his court arraignment Monday.
Andrew Robert Maynard, 26, of Escanaba, allegedly shot a 20-year-old male in the face around 10:30 p.m. Sunday night at an apartment on the 1500 block of North Lincoln Road, according to Escanaba Public Safety which responded to the incident.
When officers arrived, the victim was lying on the apartment floor with a gunshot wound to his face. He was transported by Rampart Ambulance to OSF St. Francis Hospital then transferred to Marquette General Hospital. The victim was reported to be in stable condition Monday afternoon, said Det. Lt. ESCANABA - Additional charges will be sought against an Escanaba man accused of shooting another man in the face this past weekend, according to Escanaba Public Safety officials.
Andrew Robert Maynard, 26, of Escanaba, remains lodged in the county jail on one count of careless discharge of a firearm causing injury or death. He was arrested after police responded to a 9-1-1 emergency call about a shooting on the city's northside around 10:30 p.m. Sunday ...
