Police said Saturday night near 440 N. Grant Street in Salt Lake City, 36 year-old Mike Vigil shot two of his friends. They said Vigil shot 33 year-old Antonio Vasquez in the head. Vigils mother told ABC 4, he shot 33 year-old Lee Ortega in the chest/shoulder. Vasquez died immediately. Ortega was rushed to the hospital. ... The 33-year-old victims identity was not released because he is also a witness and the investigation is ongoing, said Salt Lake City Police Detective Mike Hamideh. He remained hospitalized but his condition improved from critical to fair, Hamideh said.
Antonio Vasquez, 33, was killed in the shooting, which happened about 8 p.m. Saturday at a home near 450 N. Grant St. (750 West).
Police say Vasquez and the other man were visiting Michael Eugene Vigil, 36, when they began to argue. Vigil allegedly grabbed a handgun and fired at least 10 shots across an entire city block.
In addition to the two men, an 8-year-old boy in a car was grazed and suffered minor injuries. A woman told The Tribune she fled to a neighbors house with her young son as Vigil walked toward them with a gun, kicking the door several times after she ran inside ...
