(118,282 posts)ALBANY -- A 32-year-old city man who was nearly killed by gunfire two years ago and whose mother is a vocal anti-gun-violence advocate was shot Tuesday afternoon in West Hill, according to police.
Rasaun Kornegay suffered non-life-threatening injuries when he was struck by a bullet in his right leg around 5 p.m. on the 400 block of First Street, Officer Steve Smith said. A reason for the shooting was unclear, the police spokesman said.
Kornegay was taken to Albany Medical Center, where he is being treated for his injuries.
In the September 2010, Kornegay was hit by three bullets while standing on Quail Street. After that shooting, Kornegay stumbled into a nearby convenience store after bullets pierced his lung, thighbone and just missed his heart ...
