Police: Suspect confesses in 911 call

SOUTHINGTON - A 60-year-old man confessed to a 911 dispatch operator that he killed his estranged wife at about 1 p.m. Tuesday, and Trumbull County sheriff's deputies said they expect the man to be charged with murder today.
Royce C. Honaker was arrested about 2 p.m. Tuesday by deputies and booked into the Trumbull County Jail on suspicion of murder. He likely will be arraigned today in Newton Falls Municipal Court.
Honaker is accused of fatally shooting Donna Honaker, whom he filed for divorce against April 20.

Royce Honaker met sheriffs deputy Ty Kata near the garage door of the home at 4480 Countyline Turnpike Road after 1 p.m., saying I just killed my wife, Kata said Wednesday.

At the sheriffs office, investigators were unable to ask Honaker any more questions because he asked right away for an attorney, Maj. Harold Firster said ...

SOUTHINGTON - The 60-year-old man who authorities believe fatally shot his wife Wednesday was recently diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, and his wife of 40 years frequented the home after they separated to make sure he was safe, family members said.
