A Phoenix man was shot and killed Tuesday night in a residence near Encanto Boulevard and Third Avenue, officials said.
Phoenix police officers responded to a call around 10:00 p.m. Tuesday night for an unknown trouble, according to Officer James Holmes with the Phoenix Police Department.
When police arrived, the male victim, Donald Mellon Jr., 46, was in the living room, had obvious trauma from a gun shot wound and was bleeding. Mellon Jr. was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Holmes said.
Rebeka Mellon, 31, Mellon Jr.s wife, was detained after she was uncooperative and did not offer any explanation as to what had happened, Holmes said ...

A Phoenix woman accused of fatally shooting her husband in their home was granted a $1 million cash bail.
The victim, Donald L. Mellon, Jr. 46, was the son of a West Valley couple well-known for their philanthropy.
Donald and Dorothy Mellon own more than a dozen McDonald's franchisees in the West Valley. A noted annual event the couple hosts is McFEAST in Avondale, where more than 5,000 free breakfasts are served to families on Thanksgiving ...
