A Catholic institution of any kind should have been Union all along. As Catholics, we should practice fairness and treating all people with dignity and respect. That means a fair wage, safe working conditions, and reasonable benefits. A full time job should provide enough to support yourself and your family. I am afraid that many in our country have adapted the attitude that paying as little as possible is somehow a good "business model", and good for the bottom line. I only wish that more businesses and institutions would follow suit. We have been so brainwashed by the anti-union crowd that even good people who profess to be Christians show open hate and hostility to any mention of Unions.
