The plane was going to be built, is almost completed, and the decision was to either build it in Vermont or So. Carolina.
While I think this is a shitty aircraft, and I also do not believe the scuttling of the A-10 program is a wise thing to do either--it's stuff that's in the works. While there is a chance that the A-10 will be saved, there is ZERO chance of the multi-national F-35 being canceled.
This is pragmatism, so either you like pragmatism or you don't! Pragmatism sucks, doesn't it?
