Nothing can be left to chance or complacency. Trump is a horror but that doesn't mean he doesn't have rabid supporters who buy into his dreck. Also doesn't mean that the Republicans will all sit on their thumbs until November. They may despise Trump but they hunger for a WH win.
I'm expecting this to be an ugly, ugly campaign, so the sooner Dems define and frame The Donald the better. Warren is doing an excellent job at jabbing at Trump's underbelly. He doesn't like it one bit and is quick to lash out. His recent spew about her Native American heritage claim as fraudulent and racist is a case in point. This is the argument of a five-year old. He cannot help himself. The man is a thin-skinned narcissist and he proves it time and time again with these impulsive reactions. The fact he's enlisted Scott Brown to echo the same campaign smear that failed in Brown's Senate run against Warren underscores how ineffective and offensive this line of attack has proven to be. But Trump just keeps on, keeping on because that's who the man is. Who he is not is the reformed plutocrat, the greedy greedster who has suddenly found Jesus, who walks around with the Bible in one pocket and The Art of Con in the other. This is the drivel he's trying to sell voters.
It behooves the Democratic Party and its more vocal members like Warren to parse every claim, jab at the over-inflated ego and push back every smear and inaccuracy.
We can win this thing--big. But only if the pressure is unrelenting and Trump is continually exposed as the grifter he's always been.
