However, what the LGBTQ community did was create a lobbyist non-profit organization called The Human Rights Campaign and that group spent 25 years working on getting our community viewed in a more positive light and, like the NRA, gave rating to politicians who were LGTBQ friendly. We didn't "pay off" politicians--we threw our financial and verbal support behind politicians that supported us.

This is how we won some of our rights but don't believe we have won them all.
