All of my in-laws and several friends have become "born again" and they absolutely believe in Lucifer. I knew that the in-laws had been going off the rails for some time now, but the real kicker came on Halloween a couple of years ago. My mother-in-law called to chat and I told her I had to get off the phone because I had trick or treaters at the door. She proceeded to tell me that I was wrong to celebrate this holiday because it was satanic. She mentioned something about "people being sacrificed tonight." Honestly, I thought I was going to fall off my chair.

I try to be tolerant of all religions because I don't think it's for any of us to judge. People can believe (or not believe) whatever they want. But when the Ben Carsons of the world want to change our laws to reflect his particular religious beliefs, well, that's where I have a serious problem.

To add insult to injury, the in-laws don't really believe I'm a Christian because I'm just a Catholic and I haven't been born again. Boggles the mind.
