(14,167 posts)I think some of these people were not prepared to accept anyone other than Bernie Sanders as the nominee. I think the email leaks have intensified the situation, but I really think that some of these people are not conducting these actions on principle.
I am good friends with several Sanders delegates that are disturbed by what went on at the DNC. However, anyone who is pushed to Jill Stein at this point is no better than a Trump supporter. In fact, a Jill Stein supporter IS a Trump supporter and a supporter of all the things that Donald Trump stands for. The Sanders delegates will not support Trump in any fashion, but these protesters are a different story.
Hillary Clinton was not my primary choice. But here we are. Yes, the system is rigged. This contest has made me more committed to changing the system than ever.
I'm proud of what Bernie did and I'm proud of Bernie's supporters standing up and fighting for others. But we have a house that's drenched in gasoline with Donald Trump holding a lit match. If he gets elected, he will render the protester's efforts near meaningless.
The point has been made. Now what are these protesters prepared to do to fix this rigged system? Are they going to work at the municipal, county, and state levels to change the rules and regulations? Or are they going to pack up their marbles and go home?
