1. The media no longer knows how to be the media

They create content, sure, but actual reporting, actual journalism? Not so much. Everything is soft pitch fluff interlacing opinion and fact so much we can't tell what's what. Every single thing that comes out, be it Rachael Maddow or Megyn Kelly is this "info-tainment" as Janeane Garofalo used to call it. Everything has a blatant political spin to it.

On top of that, editors (print) or producers (tv) have their jobs on the line every day all day. The owners tell them what they want said and its the editors or producers who make sure its said. And since most of the media owners are conservative, everything, even Maddow, is tempered by conservative politics in some way.

The word is out, nobody calls Trump a racist prick. Our owners have spoken.
