because even though more NH folks were backing Bernie now, many still expected Hillary to eventually win the nomination.

Thinking back to 2008, I remember expecting Obama to lose but still voting for him. I never considered my vote a 'protest' vote, though. Just a hopeful one, even as I expected worse.
