(15,805 posts)Most people outside his home state had never heard of the guy until he became a candidate. He's been a steady backbencher with few daring deeds to publicize, and he doesn't have the robust leadership record that were notable in past Democratic icons. Now that he's running for president, of course he want everyone to vote for him. He has some appealing strong points, but there also are some very large gaps that -- for whatever reason -- he doesn't seem to be able to correct.
He needs to do better, but his adoring fans seem more interested belittling the naysayers and making excuses for the candidate. Everyone should be pushing him to constantly improve his efforts to reach out to all voter groups or he's never going to get beyond a footnote in the history written about the 2016 election.
