Democratic Primaries
In reply to the discussion: Did Biden just say that Dick Cheney is a decent man, and he likes him? [View all]uawchild
(2,208 posts)Really? Didn't Biden say this "just" in 2015? When he was Obama's Vice President? Just a year or so before the 2016 presidential election?
Help me out here... I thought his record AS VICE PRESIDENT is one of the major reasons we democrats should support him now, right?
So are we to forget everything thing he did or said as Vice President or just things he did or said that his supporters now feel hurt Joe's chances in the primaries.
Think about the timing of Joe's kind words about Cheney, would it be fair to ask that saying that in 2015 during the run up to the 2016 presidential elections might have undercut and actually hurt our eventual candidate Hillary Clinton who was unstoppably against the rethugs and Cheney?
My view is political figures have to run on all of their record, not just cherry pick policies they think have traction with the electorate now UNLESS they explicitly denounce and apologize for bad policies/decisions they made in the past.
Oh, and a shout out to all the people I had great discussions with here on DU in the past! It's great to be back!
primary today, I would vote for: Undecided
