(146,345 posts)Voter approval and popularity for candidates is a tough thing to figure out, really. So many voters do not really express themselves about their political viewpoints, but their preferences show up in polling before elections. We don't necessarily know who they are, nor on what they base their decisions. But, we see their numbers.
Some wonder about that. But, they shouldn't. Raw popularity has played a large role in many, many presidential elections. Many, many people vote on gut feelings, rather than on issues. That has to be taken into consideration, even if it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. For example, candidate personality played a large role in the elections of JFK, Reagan, Carter, Clinton and others. Sometimes, it is the main reason a candidate wins.
It will play in the outcome of this election, too.
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
