In reply to the discussion: poll - 'Medicare For All' [View all]0rganism
(24,742 posts)42. my private insurance is pretty darn good, but i support Medicare-for-All solutions
i'm not sure it's at the level of "love", but i really appreciate my insurance, it's helped me out a lot since prices for the procedures and medicines i need/have needed over the years are pretty damned unaffordable -- ex. a $20000 brain MRI would have wrecked me hard if i didn't have insurance, same with the $1000/month medicine. i'd be dead, or well on my way there, without the insurance.
even so, i recognize that it only covers me and my family, and there are people with the same diseases i have who aren't getting the treatments they require to prevent disease development and related complications. we need to push forward to full coverage for everyone. somehow.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

I find it humorous that there might be people out there that 'love' their private insurance.

I have VA and Medicare so I have no private insurance to give up. I'm very happy with what I have.
