(12,344 posts)17. I think we can look at history, but we have to look at the right history.
The country is ripe for a transformative presidency, like it was in 1980 and 1932. Which means we are not looking for a governor or a senator, a white man or a black woman, but the one who has the clearest vision of what that transformation needs to be. In our particular case, we have a very dark vision threatening us unless we can replace it with something much brighter. Which is why my top three are Inslee, Buttigieg and O'Rourke. All three seem to have vision and are relatively new to the national scene.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

It's not an absolute, but since Carter, governors have done better than Senators.
