(11,885 posts)He's lost in the past on this , and the majority of the American people are for legalized MJ, especially for Medical, so this statement will only lose him votes, and should. He should speak to others who support full legalization . In the primaries I won't support him , and know too many people that have used without going on to heavy drugs, and if he really looks into it , he will maybe change his position, but he's on the losing side on this issue. Has the alcohol industry or prisons for profit industry given him funds for his campaign? Does he realize there are thousands of studies proving the huge benefits of medical use? The government right now supplies people every month for their medical conditions. He can look into studies done at UCLA where a lung specialist Dr. Donald Tashkin did a government backed long term study and proved MJ slightly lowered cancer. Big pharma could also be in politicians pockets . His gateway drug position isn't backed by evidence. He's out of touch on this surprisingly.
