And in cases where such Ambassadorships are awarded to large donors or personal friends rather than to career foreign service officers, they are generally ceremonial. The real work of diplomacy, etc. is done by the Deputy Chief of Mission.
I was an Attorney-Adviser with the DoS for several years. That is how the system worked with every other President, even and including Shrub.
This MisAdministration is a total abomination in every way.
