One is "safe" and another is "taking a chance"? We found out in 2016 that NOTHING is safe when the deck is stacked. Republicans are planning voter suppression again, and they intend to do nothing to stop Russian/Chinese/Saudi election meddling.
Whoever ends up as the nominee, we need to flood the polls. Which means, of course, work; a LOT of hard, slogging, boring work; getting out the vote, educating voters, people who've never voted, people who have soured on voting--in other words, everyone. This is an emergency. I don't see Joe Biden or anyone else as a "safe" choice, although I agree that some candidates are more likely than others to defeat Trump.
If I were to vote in a presidential
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden

I don't think we should handicap him going into a General election (assuming he does win nomination)

A country that was on the right course before Trump would not have elected Trump

I agree! We have such great candidates, some of whom are still barely known by the electorate.
