Airlines stock 📈 climbing based on 2024 performance

From the Motley Fool another feat of Bidenenomics

Airline Stocks Fly

Confidence in the travel industry continues to pick up steam as United Airlines (NASDAQ:UAL) beat earnings forecasts in Q4 results, making it four times in a row.

Other airline stocks rose in response to the strong earnings, with investors anticipating similar positivity from rivals in the coming days and weeks. United stock is up 187% in the past 12 months, leading the sector.

Best financial year in our history”: Ed Bastian, CEO of Delta Air Lines (NYSE AL), previously enthused over his company’s outlook for 2025 as the two rivals benefit from strong demand in business, international and loyalty program travel.
Up 37% in a year.

Eyes will be on American Airlines (NASDAQ:AAL) to continue busting expectations with Q4 results due Thursday, after its stock recovered from last summer’s slump.

How on earth did so many people travel last year with eggs being so high?

Save this from the memory hole.

Synopsis of a few of the 100 executive orders signed yesterday

1) Grant his top staff security clearance without vetting or background checks putting the nation in a major compromised position.

2) End birthright citizenship – despite the 14th amendment of the constitution saying that children born here are citizens.

3) Terminate DEI across all federal agencies saying that DEI is racial discrimination against white people.

4) Withdrew from the Paris Agreement which every formidable nation in the world is in thereby eliminating our commitment to climate change.

5) Overturned the TikTok ban even though he started the investigation of TikTok when he was in office the first term … and even though it was voted by the house and the Senate based on so called exhaustive research on it is a security concern.

6) Increased and shipped more lethal drugs to every state that practices the death penalty so that they never run short.

7) Cleared 1500 people who engaged in treason to overthrow the government on January 6th. The leader of the proud boys who was sentenced to 22 years is out of jail and all their records are expunged.

8) Revoked the security clearance for all people who signed that Hunter Biden's laptop could have Russian disinformation on it.

9) Placed the federal government under a hiring freeze in every department except the military.

10) Declared a national emergency at the border so he can extract funds (our tax dollars) without congressional approval.

11) Issued a statement that the Gulf of Mexico it is now the Gulf of America.

Biden came into office with 210 executive orders and so it is not inordinate for the president to do a lot of executive orders. It’s the unconstitutionality that’s unprecedented.

I got this information from Jamal H Bryant on Instagram.

He who will not be ignored says election was rigged and raises suspicion of Musk's intervention in PA

I listened so you don’t have to.

I’m posting this for the record.

Trump’s pre Inauguration Rally January 19 in DC at Capital One Arena is the event.

3:28 Trump introduces Musk

… he journeyed to Pennsylvania where he spent like a month and a half campaigning for me …. he knows those computers better than anybody all those computers those vote counting computers and we ended up winning Pennsylvania like in a landslide so it was pretty good it was pretty good so thank you to Elon…

3:49 Mentions rigged election

… and you know it's only because they rigged the election that I'll be your president … I got both of them I got the Olympics and I got the World Cup and I said you know it's too bad one in 2026 and the other in 2028 I said I won't be there I won't be your president but then they rigged the election and now we won so I'm gonna be your president for the Olympics … thank you for the World Cup…

The man is cunning. He knows that there’s no way to really pinpoint the facts about the claims of rigging. And he knows he has immunity and doesn’t give a fuck if people know so this is where we are and how things are going to be for at least the next four years.

A political eclipse has occurred, a POS is now POTUS

From Google AI: Astrologically, eclipses are a time of change, dramatic events, and unexpected revelations. They are thought to be a cosmic reset that forces people to adjust their actions and behavior.

Like an eclipse, Republican owned and controlled media did everything in their power to block out Biden’s brilliance — amping up attacks as he freed hostages and brokered a historic cease fire. Focusing on TikTok over the ending of a conflict that they littered the airwaves and the internet with to make Biden look bad. This was just in recent days. Of course we remember Stephanopoulos last June, but the past four years have been progressively worse when it comes to media diminishment of Joe Biden. In contrast, starting today every freaking day, we will begin to see Trump’s grotesqueness 24/7.

If there’s one characteristic that describes Republicans, it is that they hate greatness. Democrats’ legacies have been obliterated because of Republicans’ rewriting history. If you ask a millennial who John F. Kennedy was most wouldn’t know. If you ask them who Bill Clinton was, they would only be able to tell you in relation to the Monica Lewinsky scandal. When it comes to Democrats, the legacies are either diminished and silenced or tarnished — sexually or even comically. JFK Jr. comes to mind. MAGAts have made a mockery of him claiming not just that he’s not dead, but that he is alive and affiliated with the Republican Party.

I hope that a historical record of the unprecedented achievements of Biden and his predecessors are being kept somewhere because if it’s is up to Republicans, Democrats will be eclipsed into the dustbin of history.

And though the timing of an actual eclipse may not coincide with today’s events the definition still applies. It’s definitely a time of change and we can expect dramatic events, and unexpected revelations. Llike it or we are all being forced to adjust our actions and behaviors.

Biden bashing

Seems plausible to me that the onslaught is to overshadow Biden’s successful culmination of the Israeli conflict and the release of hostages.

I always look for patterns and the timing of this pouncing coincides with the deal.

Of course it could just be the new normal or the old right wing hatefulness but that’s just me. Or maybe it’s just all organic.

Any thoughts?

AOC on TikTok and Trump

There's another development, and I want to show you this.

Now, if you log on to TikTok, you'll see this:

TikTok's new header thanks Donald Trump for restoring it's service in the United States, even though he is not yet President.

Welcome back! Thanks for your patience and support. As a result of President Trump's efforts, TikTok is back in the U.S.!”

First of all, Donald Trump is not president right now.

He's a private citizen. He does not have access to presidential powers. He does not have the ability to do any of that.

Please understand that TikTok's decision to name Trump in the notification is a choice. They are signaling that they have agreed to privately collaborate with Donald Trump and the Trump administration.

For all of those concerns that people were saying that TikTok is gonna be used as a propaganda tool by the Chinese, understand they're using it as a propaganda tool for the right.

Now, I want you all to put all the pieces together because what this effectively means is that every mass social media platform in the United States has been taken over by the right wing, with the exception of Blue Sky (but Blue Sky is still very small, relatively).

So when I say put the pieces together:

Elon Musk took over Twitter, and there's open reporting that they have artificially manipulated the algorithms to boost right-wing content on X and to amplify harassment.

Then you have Meta. You have Mark Zuckerberg saying that they're basically also bending the knee to Trump with their changes to fact checking, regardless of how effective that was in the first place.

Now TikTok is now saying, “Hey, we are agreeing we will use our push notification system for all 170 million American users to promote Donald Trump.”

Just understand that government announcements like this with companies, they never name politicians — they will usually name law or policy. TikTok is making an explicit agreement to do this.

And if I were a betting person: they probably are making a deal with Donald Trump to not just use these push notifications — they probably would consider algorithmic changes. Which is ironic because at the time when people voted for the TikTok ban, because there was a lot of pro-Palestinian content, that argument was being used as being somehow “anti-American,” which, you know — I guess supporting human rights is somehow bad.

So what does this mean for us?

We are on the eve of an authoritarian administration. This is what 21st century fascism is starting to look like. Republicans model themselves after Viktor Orbán’s Hungary. You can look to Hungary to get a taste of how they will try to control media and companies in the United States. This is a kind of entrée to that.

As far as what we do:

This is a time of experimentation. A lot of people can and will still use platforms, but I also look towards places where you have more ownership and develop your audiences there — like Blue Sky.

More soon,

You know what's stupid to me? Republicans who dominate social media ownership do nothing but generate propaganda and yet

Democrats—the target of a lot of the propaganda —vote down a non-Republican owned platform so that Republicans can buy up one more media outlet to fuck them over.

I know they’ve stoked fears blaming security concerns, but fear is the brand of Republicans and their media. So I don’t trust them and the motives behind this forced sale. This is about more than security. It is about media ownership and control. I’m not sure when people understand that fear is a powerful tool for manipulation.

I’ve learned more politically on TikTok that I have on Facebook or on Instagram. The reality that I see is that so much truth was coming through on TikTok without censorship that it was hurting Republicans. The legislation to ban it was introduced by a Republican who immediately invested over $1 million in the Meta platform. Following that just this past year I saw a huge influx of Trump supporters on TikTok. Apparently they were effective because even Trump has said he is rethinking the ban.

Democrats have no control over American media and although TikTok is not American putting it in the hands of another Republican in America is more of a threat than whatever bullshit threat is being fomented.

And guess what social media is now being splintered into many tiny new apps like lemon8 and rednote. Many are still affiliated with the same Republican owners to. People leave major platforms like X and Meta thinking they are different. They are not.

I hope people wake up and understand who’s controlling social media. I hope Democrats wake up regarding media and media ownership. Because what I have learned here at DU over these many years is to always ask: who does it benefit?

As always follow the money!

Do the no-/low-taxpaying rich stand to gain from federal disaster relief or even

from their local municipalities who fight their fires just like they do for the non-rich?

Is it not the equivalent of handouts if the poor subsidize the rich?
