Getting back to the lament a few months ago about the dearth of variety shows on TV:
Why is it we can't have real variety shows like the Ed Sullivan Show these days?
On Sunday night, one of the over-the-air retro TV networks,
getTV, ran an episode of "
The Johnny Cash Show." Guests that night included
Phil Harris and
Creedence Clearwater Revival. Phil Harris and Johnny Cash performed a duet of Phil Harris's best known song, "That's What I Like About the South."
Following that was the "The Dionne Warwick Chevy Special." Dionne's guests that night were
Creedence Clearwater Revival (yep, on both shows),
Burt Bacharach, and
Glen Campbell.
Dionne Warwick, Glen Campbell, and Burt Bacharach performed a medley of songs he had written.
Wow.

On September 17, 1969, CBS Television aired Warwick's first television special, entitled "The Dionne Warwick Chevy Special." Warwick's guests were Burt Bacharach,
George Kirby, Glen Campbell, and Creedence Clearwater Revival.
