Dave Chappelle hand-delivers tickets to couple who got scammed on Craigslist

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/dave-chappelle-hand-delivers-tickets-to-couple-who-were-scammed-on-craigslist/

A couple from Charlotte, North Carolina, was excited to see their favorite comedian, Dave Chappelle, on Valentine's Day. Deidra and Eddie Dickens bought the tickets for the special date night on Craigslist — only to realize they were fake. The couple was scammed out of hundreds of dollars, and when the comedian heard about their misfortune, he decided to do something to help.

The couple was going to the show with their friends, and Deidra Dickens wanted to specifically buy four tickets at the end of the row. Her husband often uses a wheelchair, and she wanted to make sure he had a wheelchair-accessible aisle seat. She paid $500 for the Valentine's Day gift.

Chapelle handed them tickets to his show and said he hoped they had a great Valentine's Day. The Dickenses said the comedian couldn't have been nicer. He even posed for a photo with him.
"Holy moly. Dave Chappelle handing us tickets to the show. I cannot even describe how I'm feeling right now," Deidra said.
"I never thought I'd be sitting in my wheelchair going to a Dave Chappelle show," Eddie said.

What I learned today - saving money on air flight ...and getting sued by the airline

Hidden city ticketing: The travel hack airlines don't want you to use

https://www.cnn.com/travel/article/hidden-city-ticketing/index.html

What is hidden city ticketing?
"Hidden city ticketing" is a longtime, under-the-radar practice of the most astute, rule-breaking fliers. It's now taking center stage in a lawsuit filed by Lufthansa, one of the world's largest airlines.

It can get complicated. Let's say you need to fly from New York City to Los Angeles, and the cheapest ticket you can find is selling for $500. There's another flight from New York to Reno, Nevada -- with a layover in Los Angeles -- that only costs $350.
If you get off the plane in Los Angeles -- throwing away the second flight from Los Angeles to Reno -- you'll get to La La Land at a "discount."

The airline alleges that their customer booked a roundtrip from Oslo to Seattle with a layover in Frankfurt. On the return trip, the customer got off in Frankfurt, didn't fly to Oslo and instead booked a separate Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Berlin. (He did show his hand by booking the second flight on the same airline as his first flight.)
It's against the airline's contract of carriage (PDF), which is often hard to find on an airline's website.

$60-80 MILLION. Colin Kaepernick beat the NFL

The NFL has a really horrific record in court. No wonder they settled.

That being said, there are multiple figures around the NFL that have a rough estimate of how much money Kaepernick actually received in this settlement. According to Mike Freeman of Bleacher/Report, NFL team officials are speculating that the former 49ers quarterback was paid in the range of $60 to $80 million. He continued to say that it wasn't an official figure, but all of the speculation voiced by the NFL higher-ups agreed on this range.

FACT CHECK - 26 dead in gunfight at the border

Trump: "Two weeks ago, 26 were killed in a gunfight on the border a mile away from where I went."

The President visited McAllen, Texas, in January, but CNN has found no reports of 26 people killed in a gunfight within a mile of the area Trump visited.

A day earlier, Mexican authorities found a grizzly scene that they described as a gang clash: at least 20 bodies, many of them burned, and military-style bullets, according to Irving Barrios Mojica, the attorney general of Tamaulipas. The bodies were found near the Mexican town of Miguel Aleman. The day after Trump's visit, the Associated Press reported local authorities raised the number killed to 24.

Miguel Aleman is located nearly 130 miles northwest from McAllen as the crow flies, according to Google Maps.

Limbaugh a NO. "This bill is HORRIBLE"

Just FYI. Heard it 15 minutes ago.

He has beside himself about how the deal worked out meant no real border security. Dems love open borders - he threw that in. Trump’s agenda is dead for 2 years. Another shutdown won’t make any change.
