About Me

Female. Retired. Wife-Mom-Grandma. Approx. 30 years in broadcasting, at least 20 of those in news biz. Taurus. Loves chocolate - preferably without nuts or cocoanut. Animal lover. Rock-hound from pre-school age. Proud Democrat for life. Ardent environmentalist and pro-choicer. Hoping to use my skills set for the greater good. Still married to the same guy for 40+ years. Probably because he's a proud Democrat, too. Penmanship absolutely stinks, so I'm glad I'm a fast typist! I will always love Hillary and she will always be my President.

These people have NEVER been held accountable.

I heard some talking head yesterday pointing out how sloppy they are about covering their tracks. And making lots of careless mistakes. Well OF COURSE!!! That’s because THEY’VE never had to before!!!!

They’ve NEVER had people looking over their shoulders before. They’ve NEVER had to face ANY accountability before. They’ve NEVER had to function in a fishbowl before - especially one like official Washington, where there are laws and regulations that have to be obeyed, Constitutional stipulations that have to be followed, committees and procedures that have to be acknowledged and complied with, permissions and votes and other approvals that have to be acquired, decisions and strategies that have to be approved before they can be implemented, and reporters around every corner and coming out of the woodwork looking for scoops and muckrakers and investigators looking for dirt - some of them with subpoena power.

This ain’t Midtown Manhattan. This ain’t the small, secretive, behind-closed-doors world of high-rollers and fast-talkers and wheeler-dealers and corner-cutters where you can get around the rules and make fishy deals with dirty money and you’ve got so many pals and cohorts in on it, or who owe you because you bought their loyalty or bullied them into submission. And with hardly anybody REALLY paying close attention. Nope.

Things are DIFFERENT in Washington and what you do IS answerable to the public - as are YOU yourself. They still don’t get how this works.

Not drugs. Lobotomies.

And this monument to himself would be paid for by American taxpayers.

Yeah. So was I. Very pleasing to see Pete Wilson blow it for GOPers

for a generation with the anti-immigrant Prop 187. Thank you, Pete! You may have won the battle (getting yourself elected), but you lost the war. Arnold got in for eight years but he was widely considered a Republican you can kinda live with. But the state legislature is OURS. And GOP will be fighting an uphill battle in California for a LONG time, especially with the demographics changing.

He doesn't realize it but that's what every one of his actions

is screaming for. Let’s give them what they want then.

Simply turd-riffic!

I like every doggone one of these. They all fit to a T.

HAH! “T for trump!”

But seriously, they all work here.

They may have to settle for absolute humiliation.

It would be the very LEAST they deserve.

He's The BEST!

This is an excellent thread, Amaryllis!

Thanks for posting it! Mitch also gets a nice little chunk of change from a buddy of Oleg Deripaska.
